TibiaME® is the first online role playing game for mobile phones.
The story of TibiaME is inspired by the PC game Tibia, one of the oldest and most successful online role playing games in Europe.
Dark forces threaten the peaceful people of Aurea, a little island located close to the rim of the Tibian ocean. Duke Bandomir, the island's ruler, has called on all the heroes of Tibia to aid his people in their struggle.
In the colourful real-time fantasy world of TibiaME, hundreds of players can set forth together in search of virtual adventure. Acting as warriors or wizards, they will be faced with the challenge of developing the skills of their selected characters, exploring a large variety of areas, unravelling secrets and interacting with other players on a social and diplomatic level.
TibiaME is especially popular in Eastern Europe (e.g. Russia) and in the Far East, for example in Indonesia. Currently the game is available in two languages (English and German). It runs on all Series 60 mobile phones as well as on Java/MIDP 2.0 - enabled handsets.
The game client can be downloaded on the official website (www.tibiame.com).
During the game the mobile phone is connected with the central TibiaME game server. The game is optimised for mobile communication via GPRS/UMTS. On average, no more than about 400 KB of data are transmitted per playing hour.
Resulting connection charges are calculated by the respective mobile carriers according to the used tariff.
Users can abort running games at any point of time and continue playing from where they left off later on.
TibiaME has been released as early as 2002. To this day, it is continually being improved. Also, ported versions are being developed for the latest generations of mobile phones.
